Join us as we celebrate the work of For The Children staff and volunteers as they continue to mobilize local Churches to serve the world's most vulnerable children. Our gala is not only our largest fundraising event of the year, it is also an opportunity to honor our church partners who have showed up for and supported children impacted by relational trauma.

Kavon Frazier
Owner of APEC
A 6-year NFL vet who is a Michigan Native. Frazier was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys (2016-2019), played safety for the Miami Dolphins in the 2020 and the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 . Frazier went to Central Michigan university, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in three and a half years with a Child Development major and Sports Management Minor. Frazier has a passion for business and is committed to giving back by spreading financial literacy amongst his peers and to the underprivileged communities.
Dr. Sharen Ford, Ph.D.
Sharen Ford is the retired Manager for Permanency Services for the Colorado Department of Human Services in the Division of Child Welfare Services. She retired with 30 years of comprehensive work history with the department. Overseeing six programmatic areas including the Foster Care and Adoption Program. Dr. Ford is the former President of the National Association of State Adoption Programs (NASAP) and the Association of Administrators for the Interstate Compact on Adoption Medical Assistance (AAICAMA). She currently serves as the Director for Foster Care and Adoption at Focus on the Family and is as committed as ever to raising awareness regarding the need for every child to have a quality family.
