For The Children has Joined Forces with CarePortal to Continually Meet the Changing Needs of Foster Children and Families and Their Communities

What is CarePortal?

CarePortal is a technology platform connecting vulnerable children and families with people who have something to give. Social workers are trained to uncover high-impact needs. CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving their ministries and teams a real-time opportunity to respond.

Every request submitted and approved by a local agency includes a specific goal such as preventing a child from entering foster care, reunifying a biological family, helping to make an adoptive placement, or supporting a youth as they age out of foster care. Responding churches can make direct connections with the families in need with the support and guidance of the caseworker.

How Do Churches Enroll?

  1. Click here, complete a simple online form to share some basic information about your church and indicate who your church’s Point Person will be. This person is willing to help coordinate church responses and church settings, as needed.
  2. Receive an email confirming your enrollment and gain access to your church’s CarePortal dashboard to begin learning how the platform works.
  3. A local FTC/CarePortal expert will reach out to you to set up additional training to discuss how the CarePortal platform is being used in your area and prepare for final activation.

What Should I Expect?

These are opportunities, not obligations. In partnership with your local network leaders, your church’s Point Person will have the ability to select preferences and determine how your church’s ministries use the CarePortal platform. Each church can customize who can join their response team and how they engage caseworkers and families in their responses.
